Formed in 2013 by twin sisters Hannah and Chloe van Thompson, The Van T's have won over numerous fans already despite their newcomer status, with their rapturous surf-pop and rock swagger balanced by delicate sugar-pop harmonies. The Van T’s have already performed at a few popular festivals across the UK recently and in Dundee they happily performed to a more intimate audience as support for Wolf Alice on their small tour in August last year. The band have also translated their success into radio play in countries worldwide, enjoying widespread praise from a variety of publications.
The first support of the evening was The Botanics from Aberdeen. Band members James, Fraser and Mark performed a lot of original numbers, some that didn't even have names yet. It was their first time performing together as a band however each member had previously performed in The Tunnels as part of previous bands. They had a great set, which kicked off the evening on a good note with a sense of more to come.
