Bjorn Again shook the O2 with a bright explosion of cheesy 70s and 80s pop that could not fail in bringing a smile to the sourest of faces.

As cold winter air ingrained itself deeper into the heart of Glasgow, Bjorn Again were a hot water bottle for anyone with even the slightest incline for pop music. The group is satirical take on the renowned Swedish sensation Abba. If you had been looking out for a place to go then this was the night to find where you could dance and you could jive.
Their appeal reached the young and the old. Groups of teens came and swayed their hips, heck, so did those a lot older, who stayed wrapped up in jackets and began the night with arms folded. The crowd was a sea of shimmies and two-steps.
The star of the night had to be the wonderful Benny Anderwear. He was a bouncing ball of energy on stage and all eyes were constantly drawn to him and his moves. The band’s false Swedish accents seemed in slight bad taste though all could be forgiven easily due to the delight the band seemed to experience while performing.
While the set was almost completely Abba covers, also thrown in was a version of Val Halen’s ‘Jump’ and a mix up between the Abba classic ‘SOS’ and The Police’s ‘Message In a Bottle.’ The group played all of Abba’s greatest hits and performed an energetic encore as well as featuring a brief intermission where more colourful pop was played.
Bjorn Again are a fun, vibrant parody of a time that is cheesy enough on its own but they still don’t let that stop them. They fill their performance with joy and left a Glasgow audience with bright smiles on their faces and springs in their steps.
