Main support for the evening came in the form of Blood Youth who here to give us a taste of their own forthcoming album release with newest single “Starve” sounding excellent and just as savage as their previous releases. Throwing in favourites like “Closure” and “Reason to Stay” they had the crowd on their side throughout their set with the latter getting a huge response. Surely a headline tour of their own is just around the corner for Blood Youth and 2019 looks set to be a big year for the band.

When the lights began to dim and Glasgow’s infamous “here we go” chant echoing throughout the venue, Crossfaith finally take to the stage with frontman Kenta Koie waving a large flag with the band logo emblazoned over it. The intensity is cranked from the get go and the band do not show any sign of taking the foot off the pedal throughout the whole set. Injecting their electronic elements throughout the set while dropping fan favourites like “Monolith” and “Jagerbomb” quite early on meant that bodies did not stop being thrown over the barrier as the crowd lapped up the energetic performance. New tracks like “Catastrophe” and “Freedom” sound excellent and the band even find space in their set for their popular cover of Omen (previously released by The Prodigy) with Koie and bassist Hiro Ikegawa being escorted into the crowd atop the shoulders of security to spur on further chaos.

As the band leave the stage and chants for an encore are heard, drummer Tatsuya Amano reappears again himself to treat us all to a fairly long drum solo where he displayed his extreme technical capability on the kit and throwing in some showboating for good measure. Finally closing with “The Perfect Nightmare”, Crossfaith showed tonight they have raised the bar once again with their live show and look like nothing will stop them.
