It has been a long, hard and busy summer for the band The Big Moon, playing the Radio 1 Big Weekend, Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals, to name but a few - and at one point they survived playing four festivals in just one weekend!
The Big Moon is a London four-piece band formed in 2014 by Juliette Jackson. Their debut album, Love in the 4th Dimension, was released on 6 April 2017, containing many singles previously released on their EP, The Road. The band is signed to Fiction Records and have toured internationally over the past few years.
The band gained exposure as they went in a co-headline tour in October 2015 with other London bands VANT and Inheaven. Following that tour, they supported artists The Maccabees, Ezra Furman and The Vaccines. In 2016, the band signed to Fiction Records. In March, they release their debut EP, The Road. Later in March 29 they released the single "Cupid". In August 2016, the group released a cover version of Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger".
The first support act was Benjamin Blue. The band had travelled from Glasgow to perform at the show and were so excited for their Friday night to be performing at a gig. They worked great together on the stage and had amazing stage presence.
Get Inuit - Jamie, Ollie, James & Rob. is supporting The Big Moon on their UK tour. They describe their music as ‘dirty pop’ after watching their performance and listening to their songs you understand their genre. The band formed in 2013, spurred by lead singer Jamie Glass’s unquenchable urge to write some songs. They are bringing back pop-punk to the UK and already have a large following. They attract to the mainstream UK audience but also attract the punk audience as well meaning they are at a great advantage to share their music to many different people.
The Big Moon performed in The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen which is an amazing venue for an intimate gig yet still fitting a large crowd. They used the stage very well and had so much energy on the stage, as a band they blend well and all work great together. They have a large following on social media so they clearly got everyone so excited to hear their new album as all songs were enjoyed by the crowd. They were as crazy you would expect in terms of licking guitars and dancing all over the stage. You could tell they all connect well as a band because they were constantly going towards the drums and playing together.
