The Canadian front man burst onto the stage with a Heineken in hand while his band mates bring a bucket full of beers and a Scottish tammy hat. Grabbing the microphone and greeting his fans he started the show with 'On the level'. Mac Demarco then picks up his guitar followed by loud cheers from the audienceas the band play 'Salad days'. In full Demarco style he continues to impress with his 7 minute long cover of 'Gypsy Woman' which included the first of many sing along with everyone in the audience dancing and singing away to the classic 90's song.

As Ode to viceroy was about to be played Mac invited up a young fan who was egar to play. The boy jammed on stage with the band playing maracas before being passed the torch that was Demarco's guitar. The boy absolutely nailed the final solo with a roar from the crowd - his night was made.

The middle of his set saw the band do another cover, this time an opera rendition of the throne room theme song from Star War which many of the fans enjoyed. Followed next was an attempt at the Oasis song 'live forever' which was quickly over and forgotten when 'My Kind of Woman' belted round the Usher Hall.

As the set came to a close and while still cracking the beers and wine the chorus of 'Making My Down Town' gets played over and over before Mac surfs the crowd in a box while smoking a cigarette. The final song before the encore 'Still Together'  rings out while he swings the microphone round and round. Two fans wrestle with security while trying and failing to get close to the star and are quickly taken off the stage much to their disappointment .

Just when you think it was all over - he reappears with a bottle of wine and accompanied by his piano player Alec Meen to perform 'Watching him fade away' to a half empty room of loyal fans.

A greatly entertaining night!
