TWIN ATLANTIC // IRONWORKS, INVERNESS

TWIN ATLANTIC HEADLINE SOLD OUT SHOW AT INVERNESS IRONWORKS AS PART OF GLA UK TOUR

TWIN ATLANTIC - PERFORMING AT INVERNESS'S IRONWORKS - 19/04/2017

Twin Atlantic performed at sold out show at Ironworks in Inverness on the 19/05/217 as part of the GLA album tour. They performed the show high up North as they mentioned that Inverness was just like another gig and is still as important as Glasgow (their home town). Unfortunately, as the band mentioned places up North often get forgotten about so they made sure to make the effort to visit. Ironworks is a purpose-built live music venue, hosting eclectic programme of up-and-coming and established acts all throughout the year. It holds up to 1000 people for live events.

The Pale White opened the night up, the band based in Newcastle upon Tyne have an electric live sound. They are a three-piece who are proud of their origins, but are beginning to see the bigger picture. Their new release 'Turn It Around' is doing well. The band has the potential to break out of the city which no one's done anything for a while.  During the performance, you can see they all enjoy playing in front of audience. Supporting for Twin Atlantic is a great opportunity for them to get used to performing.

With 5 singles already released, the band are keeping their music up to date and fresh. The band is expected to release more singles and amount to a potential album in mid-2018. With the band brimming with ideas, talent and most importantly, passion. What the British rock scene needs right now could come sooner, rather than later. The boys' introduction for the world is both intensely melodic and catchy, while packing a mighty bark and bite to match. Adam, 23, and Tom, 25, have been fixtures on the scene for over half a decade now, it was only upon Adam's return from London to Newcastle in March 2015 that the band took shape. First recruiting younger brother Jack, 18, to start the group and demo some of his songs, long-time friend Tom later completed the group. Adam credits 'Reaction', a track written in his bedroom as "the blueprint of what we are".

Being eight years since Twin Atlantics inception to break through to the mainstream, proving them as one of the hardest working and patient groups to finally grace our ears.

The band opened with Valhalla from their fourth album GLA gaining love across the board, the band show no signs of stopping anytime soon, they're set to hit stages and greet audiences in a whole host of cities. The album was produced by Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles. GLA is the airport code for the band's hometown, Glasgow. They have released four albums: Vivarium, Free, Great Divide and GLA. Their highest charting singles are "Heart and Soul" and "Brothers and Sisters" from the album "Great Divide" released in 2015. On 2 June 2016 Annie Mac premiered "No Sleep" as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 and announced their new album titled "GLA", subsequently released on 9 September 2016. This year, the Glaswegian quartet will be taking their acclaimed 2016 album ‘GLA’ on the road, the Glasgow band will take in a run of iconic venues and huge festivals. For them clearly nothing can beat playing music live for their fans and singing along with them for hours most night.

The band is only getting better and better. With each new album and single they are gaining more fans and performing at more shows. They always give the fans what they want and need. Ensuring they further keep the fans happy they of course performed "Heart and Soul" and "Brothers and Sisters" from the album "Great Divide" which was clearly loved. When performing an acoustic Sam mentioned how he bets it has been the first time the crowd has paid to see a band perform and read their own song lyrics. He then continued to mention that even with the lyrics her still messed it up. Even with all that the fans did not care and still enjoyed each song.

Catch the band on the rest of the tour. With Inverness only being the second date you have many chances to see them perform during this tour!
