Hipsway, a Glasgow band that formed nearly 30 years ago in the 80s are back replaying their most iconic hits. The band played to a nearly sold out show in Glasgow at the O2 ABC. The band played the first of three shows there. They had sold out the other two shows.

They were facing down the first of three packed hometown shows, playing to more fans than first time around last year. The band made a comeback in 2016 and have been selling out shows all year since they started touring again.

The night kicked off with the band entering a dark stage with the crowd cheering and shouting “Hipsway”. Seeing this band live brought back a lot of memories for the crowd that were attending. The majority of the crowd remember seeing this band when they first took off in the early 80s. The stage was completely black with the word “Hipsway” across the backdrop.

Kicking it off with original songs from back in the 80s, the vocals were flawless and so
were the instruments being played by the original band members. The band graced the
stage with moves which were more 80s themed than anything but fitting none the less.

The band had a backdrop which projected abstract patterns which changed colour with the stage lighting. The band after the first couple of songs began to really work the stage and allowed fans to snap the moments on their phones to keep for memories. The band covered the stage well and had fans singing along to songs that they remember from so many years ago. Nostalgia filled the O2 ABC in Glasgow. Playing new songs to old songs to covers they gave a good mixture throughout the one hour and forty five minute set.

With ultimate classics being played that many of the original fans remember, it brought the night to a memorable end, with the band thanking fans that attended the first of three shows at the O2 ABC in Glasgow. The band continues to play through Glasgow and throughout the UK, playing all of the original hits and some new songs as well as some covers.

The band played the ABC last year when they returned from there almost thirty-year break and they topped the show by 100%. Everything that didn't work they changed and everything that did work, they did better. As a whole you can complain that tonight wasn't a good night, music was great, showmanship was great, there isn’t much more you can ask for from a band in their hometown. I would urge everyone to pop down and see them either be old and new fans.
